Getting Here.

We are located just behind the High Street, 5 minutes from the train station and 10 minutes’ stroll from the beach.

There is a Co-Op supermarket across the street, plus Sainsburys and various independent food stores on the high street. As you enter Whitstable we have Tesco, Sainsburys, Aldi and M&S food at the top of the hill.

The joy of Whitstable is in tasting the varied local treats, we’re famous for our variety of cafes, bars and restaurants, some which should be booked in advance in summer. Please see our website or the information booklet in the home for more information.

The harbour and beach can be easily reached by walking in various directions, enjoying dog walks across the golf course, exploring the historic alleyways, or browsing the plethora of independent shops along the high street.

Whitstable is the ideal starting point for days out in North Kent, you can also cycle or take the frequent bus service into Canterbury, or the train to London.

We look forward to welcoming you to The Old Schoolhouse!

Directions

The Old Schoolhouse is down a small lane just off Oxford Street

Come down the hill into Whitstable. Go past the Co-Op on your left and then the Handsome Sam micro pub on your right, and then you come to traffic lights and a railway bridge.

Immediately AFTER the railway bridge TURN RIGHT into an unmarked road which is between the railway bridge and the Kakawa Chocolate Cafe, the lane is not named. If cars are waiting at the traffic lights, drive on and turn round at the mini roundabout and then TURN LEFT just before the traffic lights and the bridge into our lane.

If you get to the mini roundabout you have gone too far.

Go up the lane (a dead end) and the large house on the left is the Old School House.

There are two electric vehicle charging ports available on site. If you will need to use these please contact us before your arrival date as they need reserving in advance. Our charging fee is 0.30p per kWh.
